Would you like to become a life group leader and do you have a great idea for a life group, but don’t know how to go about starting one? Than we would like to invite you to let us know. We are excited to help you get this started; we want to support you in caring for our community and reaching the lost.

Please send and e-mail to Jan Willem Gunnink or Joanna Gulcher at lifegroups@thousandhills.cc and they will be able to help you. You can also reach Joanna by phone in the church office on Tuesday and she will be more than willing to advise you on your next steps.

Have you heard about Life Groups? Have whispers of fun weekly evenings caught your attention? Well on Sunday 28th Feb we will be having a Life Group Fair after the service. The Life Groups will be presented around the sanctuary and you will have an opportunity to meet the leaders and members of each group and find out what they are all about. Paul Reid is the senior pastor of the Christian Fellowship Church in Belfast, Northern Ireland, a dynamic church that consists of people from both Protestant and Catholic background. CFC Belfast has been a catalyst of bringing reconciliation in Northern Ireland. During Paul’s twenty years of leadership the church grew from 100 people to almost 2000. The main reason for this growth and for the global impact this church is having is probably the fact that Paul and his team are firmly committed to the principle of equipping all believers for ministry, which he sees as essential if we are going to reach the world effectively. Paul is married with Priscilla and has four beautiful daughters.

The month of March is packed with great events for our Thousand Hills family such as a children’s musical/drama and some great concerts both in Hilversum and The Hague. Find out more details below about each event.

• On 6 March there will be a promotion concert in The Hague with Newday
• On 10 March we will have a children’s musical called The Puzzle. They will have a performance in Dutch from 14:00 – 15:00 and a performance in English from 15:00 – 16:00
• On 12 March we will have a concert with the youth band from Calvary Shreveport

Interested in being a part of the first steps of a new church? There are many opportunities to taste the church planting experience as we’re starting our new Thousand Hills site in the city of The Hague.

Here are some ways to get involved:

1) Join the bi-weekly core meetings on Sunday afternoons. There is another meeting today at 15:00. These meetings serve as a time to worship, pray, build together and as time of inspiration for all involved. We meet at the International School of The Hague, Wijndaelerduin 1, The Hague.

2) Pray regularly for the team and believe with us that God will do an extraordinary work in the city of The Hague

3) Support the project financially as a good financial basis is needed to build a church.

4) Serve during the concert on March 6 or during the monthly Sunday morning celebrations which will start soon.

On Sunday, 7 February at 12:30 we will hold a Thousand Hills members meeting. All members are invited to join us for this meeting where you will receive a financial report of 2009, learn about the  budget of 2010 and other interesting points relating to our vision.

Who is a member in Thousand Hills? Everyone who has made a conscious decision to make Thousand Hills their spiritual home and who has made a recordable financial contribution to the church in the last calendar year.

Winter is almost over. It won’t take long before the great rivers here in the Netherlands will flood their banks due to the thaw. How would you cross the river if there would be no bridge or no boat? Joshua faced this challenge a couple of thousand years ago. God had promised the land Canaan to his forefathers. Now it was up to him and his generation to possess it. But how do you lead a whole nation – women and children included – across a ferocious river to lay hold of God’s promises? How do you lay hold of God’s promises for your life? Join us from February 6 onward for a brand new message series called Crossing the Jordan.

Thank you for the many ways you’re supporting what we’re doing as a community by giving toward church planting, disaster relief, missions and special projects. Because of your sacrificial giving we can be involved in God’s mission in this world.

The Hague
Since last year fall a steadily growing core group is gathering in The Hague to start a new Thousand Hills site. Since then we have also raised funds for this project. So far we have raised a total of € 28.268. We are truly grateful for your generosity and faithful giving in building this new church. We still need € 58.000 to cover all budgeted costs for this year, which we hope will come in from various sources including Thousand Hills.

Help for Haiti
Thousand Hills is giving toward Haiti through Convoy of Hope. This relief organization has supplied 1.6 million meals since the earthquake struck Haiti. So far our community has  given € 2.410. Thank you for your generous gifts! There are still opportunities to give toward the enormous need in Haiti. Together we can make a difference and bring hope in these devastating circumstances.
