Summer time

At the end of this week the school will close its doors for the summer break. This year we depended on the availability of a school janitor for our Sunday meetings. Due to the holiday season we’ll suspend our services at the ISH till 22 August.

We invite you to join us at Thousand Hills Hilversum during the summer. Our services start at 10:30 and will continue all the way during the summer. You can also follow us online via livesteam and by watching the videos of our messages.

Celebration service

This Sunday, 4 July, we will host our last service before the summer break. Gendro Schijff & band will lead us in worship again and if you’ve heard Gendro & band before, you’ll know that we will experience some powerful praise and worship. Sebastiaan van Wessem will speak about meeting Jesus. The Celebration Service starts at 16:00 at the International School of The Hague (ISH), Wijndaelerduin 1, Kijkduin, but you are most welcome to join us for the time of prayer, starting at 15:15.

Last Sunday at Thousand Hills International Church The Hague we had special guest-speakers: David and Cheryl Richards from Arkansas, USA. This couple lead the worship, along with a choir, in their church in North Little Rock, AR

Dave challenged us to accomplish God’s plan with God’s power. He spoke about Moses’ prayers on the mountain (while Joshua was battling the Amalekites in the valley) and the importance of intercession. We are blessed that Dave and Cheryl have committed to be intercessors for Thousand Hills.

It was also the first time that Bram Maas lead us in worship. Bram and his wife Liesl, are recording worship-musicians, with their own ministry in Israel. Bram felt called to help Thousand Hills International Church The Hague with the development of its worship team.

Celebration Service

Every month we gather in the big theatre of the International School of The Hague for a celebration service. We will worship together with Gendro Schijff & Band and listen to an inspiring message from the word of God. If you are curious about this new international church in The Hague or you already see Thousand Hills as your home church, you don’t want to miss these meetings. Join us in the ISH from 16:00 – 17:30 on the 6th of June!

Life group meeting

Our Life Group meetings are all about developing relationships between the people who are making Thousand Hills their church home. We’ll have them on the third (3d) and every fifth (5th) Sunday of the month. These meetings are characterized by their warm informal atmosphere. A devotional talk, time for personal prayer, communion – and at times a potluck meal together to strengthen relationships. On the Sundays of the Life Group meetings, the children will stay in the meeting with the adults.

This Sunday we will 1) Watch a training session (of the Alpha Course) that will equip us to minister to others in prayer during our celebration meetings. 2) We will prepare for the June celebration meeting: present the needs for the meeting and invite people to participate (welcome people; kids ministry; nursery; ushers; ministry team etc.).

Alpha Course

Why am I here? What’s the point of my life? Isn’t there more? Who is Jesus? Why should I read the Bible? Does God heal today? If you’ve ever found yourself asking these questions, then the Alpha Course for International Students (and other young adults) is a great starting place to discover more about the Christian faith – and life – in an informal and relaxed setting.

This fun-filled, informative course is made up of 7 weekly sessions, each of which starts with a meal. We will meet on Monday evenings (18:30 – 21:00) from 10 May – 21 June. You can e-mail Solomon (solomon@ifes.nl) to sign up or request more information or call him on 06-81026073.

Directions to the ISH (Wijndaelerduin 1, Den Haag/The Hague)

By car

1. When you travel by car from outside the Hague to the ISH you will always have to get to the A4.
2. When you drive the A4 in direction Den Haag Zuid/Rijswijk take the exit (afslag) 12 (Den Haag Zuid)and continue over the N211 in the direction of Den Haag Zuid.
3. Continue over the N211 (Lozerlaan and Ockenburghstraat) for about 6,5 km
4. Make a 180 degrees turn by the Laan van Meerdervoort and continue on the other side of the Ockenburghstraat.
5. Take the first exit to the right to the Wijndaelerweg and again take the first right to the Wijndaelerduin.
6. This is a one way road, when you continue you will reach the ISH on Wijndaelerduin 1.

By Public Transport

From Central Station The Hague you can travel by tram. Take the RR3 in direction Loosduinen. Exit on the tram stop Pisuissestraat
(a side street of the Ockenburghweg, see map). From there it is a 7 minute walk to ISH.

From Station Moerwijk you can travel by bus. Take the Stadsbus 26 in direction Kijkduin. Exit on the bus stop Westduin. From there it is a 5 minute walk to ISH.

The gate to the ISH is open between 14:30 and 15:15. If you arrive a bit later and you stand before a closed gate, please call Frank on 06-33507036
