Do you have a heart for prayer? We would love to have you at one of our prayer meetings where we pray for our church, the community and our mission in the world. Join us for one of the following prayer meetings:

Tuesday morning: 06:30 to 08:00, Kids Quest room, church building
Tuesday evening: 19:30 to 21:30, Gunnink home, Ploeglaan 20, Eemnes
Sunday morning: 09:30 to 10:15, rehearsal room bellow Xtream, church building

connect

This year we are organising several Connect – membership explained seminars. This seminar allows you to:
1) better understand the vision and values of the church,
2) more effectively connect with the church family so that it will truly become your church home and
3) find your place of service in Thousand Hills.

If you want to be a member of Thousand Hills, this is the first starting point. Our current members should also attend this seminar to continue their membership in 2011.

This year on the 12th of September and 28th of November, there will be two more opportunities to attend the seminar. It runs from 12:45-14:45 and child care will be provided, please bring your own lunch. It is very important that you attend this seminar, so please make it an important priority.

alpha introduction

The Alpha Course is a good starting place to discover more about life and the Christian faith in an informal and relaxed setting. Alpha is a dynamic course that can be life changing.

An Alpha Introduction meeting will be held on Sunday 5 September at 12.15 in the KidsQuest room. This is for anyone who is interested in the Alpha Course whether you have registered for the next course or not. Participants from the previous course will be there to exchange their experiences. There will be coffee and snacks followed by a short DVD and a time for any questions.

Would you like to develop the leader within you? Would you like to hear other leaders’ thoughts on leadership? If your answer is ‘Yes’, then read further to find out more about ‘JumpStart – Developing the Leader within You’.

In the last year Sebastiaan has been working with mentoring groups for current and future leaders and these have been quite successful. In the year to come, Sebastiaan would like to build on what has been learned and start a larger mentoring group (20 – 30 people). The first gathering will be on the 23rd of September at 20:00 – 22:00 (the other gatherings will be on 30 October, 2 December, 27 January, 3 March, April 14, May 26 and June 30).

The participants are asked to read 1 or 2 chapters of John Maxwell’s book “Developing the Leader Within You” which will be put into the context of Thousand Hills during the meeting. This will allow people to interact with each other and discuss the material they have read.

These are a few of the other subjects that will be studied:

Integrity: The most important ingredient of leadership
Problem Solving: The quickest way to gain leadership
People: Developing your most valued asset
Vision: The indispensable quality of leadership

hosts for new nation music

In September 2010 New Nation Music will be visiting the Netherlands to host a night of worship and a day of training for Worship Teams and Songwriters. This worship ministry is formed by Jennie Riddle (Dove Award winning songwriter) and Will and Crystal Yates and three other very talented musicians.

We are looking for two more families to host two members of this wonderful team of worshippers for a week (21 – 27 September). Host will have free access to the concert on the 25th of September in Thousand Hills. If you are interested, please email Koen.

Wim and Sonja Odendaal, a missionary couple we support in Suriname need clothes and shoes for the boys in their Boys Home. The four boys are 9-12 years old and their shoe sizes are 37-41. Would you please help us by donating shoes and clothing. On Sunday the 5th of September we will have a table set up at the back of the Sanctuary to collect any clothing and shoes you have for these boys. Thank you for your support.

the pretenders

Have you ever pretended to be someone you are not? Do you sometimes mask your real feelings – even towards God? Currently we are doing a message series called “The Pretenders”. In this eight week series, we will discuss several Psalms and discover the importance of approaching God with honesty, putting down our masks and stop pretending.

In life we cry out to God in times of hardship, fear, pain and suffering but we also cry out to God in joy and thanksgiving. This series explores those moments in life when we cry out to God. Join us this summer in Thousand Hills and …. come as you are!

invitation cards

We have designed invitation cards to invite people to our celebrations on a Sunday morning. This Sunday they will be on the info table, so feel free to take a few and keep them in your wallet. When you hear someone speaking English invite them to Thousand Hills and give them a card. We are open to all and everyone is welcome!

mosaic kick-off party

As the holiday is drawing to a close we at Mosaic are getting ready to kick off a new Mosaic season and boy is it going to be great!! To celebrate the new season and to get everybody in the mood, we are organising a small Kick-Off party.

Where: Maaike’s house – Trekvogelweg 66c, Amersfoort
Time: 19.30

We hope to have a fun time together.

lost & found

Over the last year a number of items have been left behind in the church building. During the coming Sunday and for the next three Sundays you can retrieve your lost items from the boxes at the back of the sanctuary. Items that haven’t been claimed by 5 September will be given away.
