Ministry at Thousand Hills is funded by the members of the church. We each have the privilege of what God has entrusted to us. At Thousand Hills we believe that our faith is made stronger through giving and receiving together,  and that we are following Christ’s example when we are generous to those in need. You can give through the offering at our Sunday gatherings or through direct bank transfer.

Prayer is both a personal, intimate connection with our loving Heavenly Father, and a corporate expression of the heart of a church as it seeks to hear God and connect to His plans for the world. Prayer is vital to the success of Thousand Hills and we encourage you to consider how you can be part of the prayer life of our church.

Prayer gatherings

Regular prayer gatherings are held three times a week:

• Tuesday morning (6.30–8.00am) in the Kid’s Quest Room at church.
• Tuesday evening (19.30–21.30) at Gunnink family home (Ploeglaan 20, Eemnes)
• Sunday morning (9.30–10.15) in the practice room beneath Xtream at church.

Special Prayer meetings will also be held at intervals throughout the year.

Online prayer chain

Join our online prayer chain and make a commitment to pray for the needs of others and the current needs of our community. We believe God hears and acts when his people pray for one another. You can sign up for our online prayer chain on our contact page.

While many of us are willing to serve in the church, it isn’t always easy to see where we might fit in. Below, we’ve given list a couple of suggestions about how you might be able to get involved. However, this is by no means an exhaustive list, and if you have your own dreams and ideas about how you could serve, we’d love to hear them!

Sunday support

Gathering together on Sunday mornings is a highlight for our community as a time to celebrate, worship God and listen to His word. Keeping these gatherings running needs tireless hands to make great coffee, give a warm welcome or keep the building clean and tidy. Please get in touch if you would like to be a part of the coffee team, the welcome team, or if you would be willing to help with the cleaning and/or maintenance.

Care

Our church care ministry exists to connect people with each other and to help people with practical and pastoral needs. If you are interested in helping people in a practical way in the area where you live, then please get in touch with your local district contact person, or else get in touch with us to find out more.

Alpha

Alpha is a 10-week course about the basics of the Christian faith. Our Alpha leadership is looking for help preparing the meals for both the Alpha evenings and the Alpha weekend away. If you’d like to volunteer for this, then please get in touch with us to sign up.

Life Groups

Life Groups help to keep our church community connected. You can get involved in a Life Group by serving as an assistant leader, leader or coach.

Events

Church events are a great way to build up a strong community, but we need people to make these events happen. We need volunteers for kids’ events, church picnics, meals and other special occasions.

Outreach

‘But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.’ Acts 1:8

As a church our mission is to reach out to those in our local area, and beyond, to the whole world.

Are you searching for meaning in life? Are you new to church and keen to start finding out more about the Christian faith? Do you have lots of questions? If so, then Alpha is for you! An informal, fun way to explore and learn about the Christian faith, this course is held in a relaxed setting, beginning with a shared meal and then following into a time of discussion. Leadership

Leadership days, seminars and workshops

At Thousand Hills, we are committed to equipping people for leadership. We offer training days, seminars and workshops throughout the year so that we can learn together what God has in mind for leadership.

Mentoring programme

We are currently implementing a mentoring programme for the people in the Thousand Hills leadership team. Put simply, our leaders will have the opportunity to meet face-to-face with a mentor and have a chance to pray together, learn about leadership principles, and discuss specific questions relating to the ministry they are leading. This programme will start with a small group of people, but we hope to expand it to include all leadership levels at Thousand Hills.
