Easter 2010

Posted: 10 March 2010

Soon we will be celebrating Easter, one of the most important events on the Christian calendar. So what is Easter all about? Is it just chocolate eggs, bunnies and cute little chickens? While those things are fun and you will find all of them at our Easter Party (Sat. 3rd April), Easter’s truest meaning is found in one person – Jesus Christ. At Easter we remember the death of Jesus Christ on a cross 2000 years ago – a death that opened the way for all of us to come into relationship with a holy God. On Good Friday we pause to focus on the amazing love of Christ to die for us in order to make us right with God.
Easter Sunday is a day of great rejoicing as we celebrate the resurrection of Christ. He did not stay in the grave but by conquering death he made eternal life with God possible.

Crossing the Jordan

Posted: 9 March 2010

Joshua faced this challenge a couple of thousand years ago. God had promised the land Canaan to his forefathers. Now it was up to him and his generation to possess it. But how do you lead a whole nation – women and children included – across a ferocious river to lay hold of God’s promises? How do you lay hold of God’s promises for your life? From 7 February until 7 March we went through a message series called Crossing the Jordan.

Volunteers for Easter Party

Posted: 9 March 2010

We are organizing an Easter Party on Saturday, April 3, 14:00-17:00. Those of you who have attended this event in the past know how much fun and also how much work it is. We need every extra hand to make this year’s Easter Party successful.

We need volunteers to help with:

  • games
  • crafts
  • set-up and clean-up
  • supervising bouncy castle
  • preparing drinks/snacks
  • supply shopping
  • security and first aid during the event (people with EHBO diploma’s)
  • etc.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity to serve our church and our direct community by helping in these practical ways. If you’re interested in helping, please sign up at the information table or e-mail Kathy.

Did you have eggs for breakfast? Can we have your used egg carton? Wendy needs lots of empty egg cartons for the Easter Party craft table. Please put egg cartons in the bag on the information table.
