Baptism
If you want to take the step to publically commit yourself to a lifetime of following Jesus, then we invite you to take part in the believer’s water baptism. This is a holy and incredible opportunity to demonstrate your belief in Jesus and His resurrection, and to declare that ‘I believe that the best way to live is the way of Jesus and I will purpose in my heart to follow Christ – daily dying to my self and permitting the resurrected Christ to live in and through me.’ The act of baptism does not save us; rather it is an amazing picture of our synthesis with Christ and our declaration that we connect ourselves to him as people who are living as new creations.
Thousand Hills Baptism services are held around three times each year. Please contact us if you would like to talk to someone about baptism or to sign up for a baptism Q&A meeting that will help you prepare for this significant step in your journey with Jesus.
Child Dedication
Child Dedication at Thousand Hills is a tradition where the parents have the opportunity to make a serious and solemn commitment to raising their child in the faith – to know Jesus as the unique hope for bringing reconciliation between God and mankind. Typically, this ceremony includes Scripture reading, prayer, a ‘family-pledge reading’ and a series of promises committed to by both the parents and the wider church family.

Marriage and family
Relationships do not come with an instruction manual, and while marriage is a beautiful thing, it requires a lot of work. That’s why we have groups available to provide you with support, encouragement, healing, or just a safe place where you can discuss marriage and family-related issues. No matter what stage of a relationship you’re at, you don’t have to journey alone.
Marriage Course

Pre-marriage counselling
We encourage every couple that wants to get married to meet with one of our elders or pastoral care workers for pre-marriage counselling. You may wonder if it’s necessary but in our experience, people have found it incredibly helpful to develop a relationship with another married couple where you can feel free to ask and discuss any question related to marriage. These meetings are meant to help you in creating a strong foundation for a healthy marriage. Please contact our church office for more information.
Weddings at Thousand Hills
We rejoice with you as you take one of the most important steps in your life. Would you like to request one of our pastors to lead your wedding ceremony or are you interested in using our facilities? Taste of Heaven
Come and join us on a journey of faith! Jesus’ life on earth was centred on meeting the needs of people who were sick, hurting and broken. We believe He still does the same today. If you are going through difficult times or have questions about the meaning of life, come along and sample ‘A Taste of Heaven’, a special Sunday evening gathering. Join us for this opportunity to seek God and trust Him for His provision in your life. These gatherings are held on every second Sunday of the month, beginning at 19:30.
