Our regular teachers, who work so hard to create a fun learning environment for your children, are taking a well-earned break for the summer period. In order to provide a great program for kids from 0-6 years throughout the summer, sign-up sheets are available in each classroom and in the coffee area. Anyone can sign up whether you have children or not! This is a great opportunity for people who are not normally part of the children’s program to help out. Please sign up for at least one Sunday between July 7th and August 11th. You can also email Esther or Kari to sign up!

Join us this Friday, June 14th, for the Thousand Hills Women’s evening. We will watch a great short film, listen to some reflections and enjoy some surprises. Bring lots of friends so we can make it a magnificent evening! You don’t need to register, just bring € 5 per person and enjoy this special time together.

On June 23 we have the privilege of welcoming Pastor Pierre du Plessis to both of our services. Pierre is originally from South Africa, but now is the Lead Pastor of a great church in Rochester, New York, called The Father’s House. Pierre is known for his unique ability to bring the Bible to life in memorable ways using vivid illustrations mixed with humor and practical life application.
Pierre is also passionate about mentoring & equipping leaders, engaging all generations and encouraging people to experience God in their lives. He is married to his friend and partner in ministry, Marlize and they have two beautiful children, Chloe and Caleb.

A church cannot exist without people who serve. Without volunteers a church is powerless, non-inspirational and empty. It is even destined to become completely extinct. God has gifted the church with people. God has given those people gifts, talents, skills to use to build his kingdom. We have been gifted to make a contribution vs. constantly consuming. The eternal consequences of Christian service compel us to serve God, his church and the community. Without YOU this will not happen.

watoto concert

Join us on July 5th for a concert filled with songs and stories about hope and salvation brought to you by the amazingly gifted Watoto children’s choir from Uganda.

This choir is part of a holistic care program that includes physical care, medical intervention, education, trauma counseling and spiritual discipleship for orphaned children and vulnerable women.

If you can host 2 to 3 children and an adult during the night after the concert please contact Dar.

Greg Surratt is one of the most innovative pastors from the United States and has been one of Thousand Hills’ overseers for a couple of years.

On Sunday, 2 June, Greg will be at Thousand Hills again to preach another inspiring and encouraging message. He will speak in both services. Don’t miss this opportunity to listen to this man who has helped inspire the Thousand Hills vision. And… bring a friend!

Greg lives in the US, in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, and is married to Debbie. They have four children and 9 grandchildren. Greg is the Lead Pastor of Seacoast Church, a church with 13 locations in South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. Each weekend they run close to 40 services in all these locations.

He is also the President of the Association of Related Churches (ARC), a very innovative relational American church planting network that is now influencing the whole world. Thousand Hills is one of the first European Churches that is part of ARC.

celebration sunday

We will celebrate our seventh anniversary as a church on May 26th. We have a lot to be thankful for so we will be looking back at what God has done in and through us the past seven years. We will be baptising at least 16 people in our brand new built-in baptism pool. These people have decided to follow Jesus and were ready for the next step in their walk of faith. We will also be celebrating the completion of the Sanctuary make-over and collect the first Heart for the House offering.

Bring your friends and family and celebrate this special day together with the Thousand Hills family and enjoy the special treats at the coffee time!

Bring your family, neighbours and friends to this special sing-along night filled with contemporary black gospel songs brought to you by the cross-cultural Fire Choir.

On June 6th we will host a one day conference initiated by the Association of Related Churches (ARC) called All Access Exchanges. Thousand Hills is part of ARC.

So what’s ARC? In president Greg Surrat’s words:”we are an association of relational churches working with church planters, church leaders and churches in transition to provide support, guidance and resources to launch and grow life-giving churches.”

What can you expect on this great day?

You will have the opportunity to interact with and learn from some of the leading church pastors from around the world, like Greg Surrat, Peter Haas, Matt Fry and our own lead pastor Sebastiaan van Wessem. You can listen to their stories, learn from their mistakes, ask lots of questions, laugh at their preacher jokes and walk away with new friendships.

The Exchanges will help you grow as a leader as you continue to make an impact on your local community. This conference is free of charge and includes a free lunch!

life group leaders training

On the 23rd of May and the 13th of June we are organising a training for all who are new to leading a life group or are considering starting one in the future.

It will be an informal training, based on conversation and learning from each other. We will discuss the four core tasks of a life group leader: 1) creating community, 2) enabling growth, 3) empowering to serve and 4) caring for needs.
