Joy to the World (EN)
Jesus and joy go together. Mary responded with joy on learning she would become pregnant with Jesus. The angels announced joyfully that Jesus was born. The shepherds returned to the fields with joy after seeing Jesus. Join John as he looks at one encounter Jesus had with a man who was paralyzed and a hostile crowd of religious leaders which teaches us about joy. In this encounter we see what inspires the Christmas Carol - Joy to the World. This video is in English with Dutch translation.
Preached by John Harris on 23 December 2012 (Sermons in English).
Joy to the World (NL)
Deze verhaalden inspireerden het kerstlied Joy to the World.

Restored to be a Restorer
The restoration that God wants to do in the world begins with the restoration he wants to do in our lives. Often people try to accomplish the work of God without experiencing the work of God. In today’s message John takes a look at what it means to be restored in order to be a restorer.
Preached by John Harris on 18 November 2012 (Sermons in English).
The Joy of Giving
What does giving actually involve – is it just about money or is it more? What motivates us to give? If we give, what about those who receive? What is God’s part in our giving? Join John Harris as he takes a look at Paul's perspective on giving and see how giving is really a part of living generously as a follower of Jesus. There truly can be joy in giving!
Preached by John Harris on 26 August 2012 (Sermons in English).
Difference between joy and happiness
Our new series at Thousand Hills is called the DNA of Joy, based on the book of Philippians. Today, John kicks off the series. Paul writes to the Philippian church to encourage them in the face of opposition and trials. Yet Paul doesn’t tell the Philippians that being happy is the answer to their problems - instead he tells them to be a people of joy – so what is the difference between joy and happiness? Join John as he explores this topic.
Preached by John Harris on 24 June 2012 (Sermons in English).
The Holy Spirit helps us know God
In this first sermon in the "My Best Friend" series John looks at Jesus' teaching in John 14 about the Holy Spirit. His followers were anxious and afraid because he would leave them, but Jesus let them know that the Holy Spirit would come and take his place. From this passage we learn that God is present with us by way of the Holy Spirit, our best friend. He helps us on our journey of faith by giving us confidence, by helping us know God better and by giving us peace.
Preached by John Harris on 3 June 2012 (Sermons in English).
Preached by John Harris on 3 June 2012 (Preken in het Nederlands).
Who is Jesus? How do we respond?
On Palm Sunday at the start of Easter week we explore two stories that deal with who Jesus was from two different perspectives. The triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and the woman who anointed Jesus' head reveal Jesus as the Messiah and the one worthy of our worship. Join John Harris as he explores who Jesus is and how we can respond in worship.
Preached by John Harris on 1 April 2012 (Sermons in English).
Reflections on Love
In the last of our Love Song series on marriage and relationships we reflect a little on love itself - what is it, how do we understand it, what are some factors that shape it. Join John as he examines passages from the Song of Solomon and John 15 and what they teach us about a love that is unconditional, passionate, and bears fruit in our lives and in the lives of others.
Preached by John Harris on 25 March 2012 (Sermons in English).
